Student Information Whanau Teams At Tamahere Model Country School, we have 4 Whanau teams. Each Whanau is represented by a NZ native bird. The birds are Kotoku (blue), Hoiho (yellow), Kakapo (green) and Takahe (red).
In each Whanau, there are 4 senior support leaders, 2 deputies and 2 leaders. These leaders help to support their team to win and participate in competitions. In addition, the leaders and deputies get to host our school assemblies.
The Whanau competitions range from sports events, to collecting yummy apple stickers. From each competition, there is a winner. The winner is whoever collected the most, got the most points, or just played well. After each competition, the winning Whanau receives the trophy at the next school assembly.
All points are tallied up throughout the year. You receive 1 point for 4th, 2 points for 3rd, 3 points for 2nd and 4 points for 1st.
